What are SDGs

SDGs is an acronym for “Sustainable Development Goals.”
Adopted in September 2015 U.N. Summit, it is a set of goals agreed upon by the international community to be achieved by the U.N. Member States in the 15 years from 2016 to 2030. It serves as a guide to create a more sustainable future for all people by resolving numerous global challenges we face us such as peace and justice, prosperity, environmental degradation, climate change, poverty and inequality.

Forchile for SDGs

Guided by our vision “Creating a sustainable society, for the happiness of tomorrow’s children," Forchile’s business focuses around planning and development of renewable energy and energy saving renovations. We think these activities align with the same direction as “sustainable development” intended by SDGs.
We will redefine our work to alight with SDGs goals such that all of Forchile will move forward as one to achieve our goals.

Construction of solar power plants

We construct various solar power plants from low to extra-high voltage such as those in Akune, Kagoshima and Ushiku, Ibaraki. In order to expand the use of renewable energy we will continue to take part in constructions of solar power plants across Japan.

Energy saving renovations
for existing buildings

We perform renovations to introduce energy saving measures to the residential, commercial and office buildings. Improving insulation and utilizing double-pane windows maintains room temperature and reduces power used for cooling.

Adding insulation to the ceiling・converting windows in homes to double windows.

Realizing SDGs internally

Employees Work Style

To achieve both employee job satisfaction and company growth, we have set “productivity” as a quantifiable company-wide goal to promote working efficiently.
> As a rule, there is no overtime (Currently we maintain less than 10 hours overtime monthly)
> Every Wednesday work hours are 1 hour shorter and designated a no-overtime day
> A half-day off is available once a month, separate from ordinary paid leave

Employee Education

  • By regularly offering employee training, cultivate many employees capable of realizing a sustainable society (all-employee training 4 times a year + position-based training and out-of-office training)
  • Continue to hire new graduates and provide training. (New graduate hiring since fiscal year 2019)
